    Chronic Illness Lessons

    What Having A Chronic Illness Taught Me Chronic illness comes with a lot of grief. I had the loss of my career, my physical ability, and some relationships. Some people simply disappeared. People I thought I was close to changed and I was left feeling abandoned and lonely. I had to learn to advocate for myself. Even through tears I learned to speak my truth. The real lesson in all of that is knowing who had my back. Who could see I was suffering when when I was putting on a brave face and pushing through. These people are your tribe.     I’m Back

    It has been about 18 months since I have posted anything new. The last year and a half have been a real journey. I had 4 surgeries in less than a year. Both my knees have been partially replaced and I had my big toe on my right foot fused. The surprise surgery was a diagnostic lumpectomy. Thankfully the cyst in my right breast was found to be non-cancerous. All of these surgeries in such a short time took a toll on my body.
